Members Gather for 2025 Annual Meeting
Parke County REMC hosted its 88th Annual Meeting and Member Appreciation Event on September 11 at the Parke County Fairgrounds. The evening brought together hundreds of members and their families for food, fun, and cooperative updates.
Each registered member received a $15 bill credit and was entered into drawings for 10 exciting door prizes, including:
(1) $500 Bill Credit – Winner: Daniel & Tracy McIlhenny
(2) $250 Bill Credits – Winners: Paul Coleman, Phillip Plessinger
(3) $100 Bill Credits – Winners: John Welker, Greg Lamb, Jack Glancy
(2) STIHL Trimmers – Winners: Dan Russell, John Hall
(2) STIHL Leaf Blowers – Winners: Braden Mitchell, Tammy Carr-Bailey
Dinner was catered by The Beef House and served by the Parke Heritage High School Cheerleaders and Dance Team, who did a fantastic job assisting with meals, drinks, and clean-up. Members of all ages enjoyed inflatable stations, balloon art, bingo, informational booths, and a “Touch a Truck” experience.
The bloodmobile was also on-site for the evening, offering members a meaningful way to give back to the community.
The event concluded with a business meeting led by Board President Mark Evans. He began with heartfelt remarks acknowledging the importance of Patriot Day, September 11th, honoring those lost and the heroes who stepped forward. He emphasized the value of coming together as a community and thanked members for their continued support and engagement.
Director Keith Blaydes was also recognized for his 42 years of service on the Parke County REMC Board of Directors, serving as president from 2004 to 2024. CEO Chadd Jenkins recognized employees with more than 20 years of service to the cooperative and provided updates on current energy policy developments. Attorney Aleasha Boling announced the results of the 2025 board elections, with Doug Brown elected to represent District 1 and Matt Mitchell elected to represent District 2.
