TWN Dial-Up Internet Service with PowerUp Accelerator
For the past few years, Parke County REMC has partnered with TransWorld Network (TWN), to provide you excellent rates for your long distance service and dial-up Internet service with the PowerUP Accelerator. Providing valuable service means much more than low prices; it means providing our members with a level of service that always meets or exceeds expectations.

TWN is a service-oriented organization that provides long distance, toll-free and calling card service to residents and businesses at substantially lower rates. In addition, they offer several billing and payment options, including automatic bank withdrawal and credit card billing. The long distance rates and services are still available without a monthly service charge, with the exception being when the total bill is less than $5.00.

You do not have to have Parke County REMC electric service to sign up for this long-distance phone service.

Even lower rates by signing up for the E-bill Feature as low as 4.5¢ cents per minute. (E-bill Feature for Indiana Residents Only)
Receive your long distance bill online and receive a discounted rate of as low as 4.5¢ cents per minute on all of your in-state and out of state long distance calls. Payments must be made using a credit or debit card in order to qualify for this discount. (Does not include International or toll free calls).

With electronic billing, you will receive your long distance statement through e-mail vs. a paper bill through the postal service on a monthly basis. Payments can be made using a credit or debit card.

International Countries at 6.5¢ cents per minute:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom & Canada.

To make changes to your existing account or to sign up for new service, you can do either of the following:

SCAM ALERT: Dial-Up Internet Modem Switch Scam
Most consumers that access the Internet with a dial-up connection are susceptible to this scam. How the scam works? Some websites will trick consumers into paying to access "free" Internet content. Your computer connects to the Internet with a local telephone number. However, you may click on a pop-up or download a site that disconnects your local connection and reconnects using another, unauthorized phone number in an International location. This results in expensive long distance phone charges for the consumer. This switch is often made without your knowledge or approval! Some consumers have had charges of over $1,000 because of this scam!

To help minimize the chances of becoming a victim, please consider one of the following:

1. Request an International Call Block on your line, if you have no need to place international calls. This can be done by contacting TWN.
2. Add an Account Code to your TWN long distance account if you have the need to place international calls. Doing this will require that an access code be dialed prior to any direct dialed, long distance call being completed by TWN.
