Starting October 1, 2007 the State of Indiana will be offering a retrofit geothermal heat pump rebate. This rebate program uses money received from the U.S. Department of Energy.

Geothermal Residential Rebate Program

The Residential Rebate Program will offer Indiana homeowners rebates for the purchase and installation of geothermal heat pumps.The program offers rebates for the installation of geothermal heat pumps in existing Indiana residences. Geothermal heat pumps make use of a clean, renewable energy resource (constant temperature of the earth), to reduce home energy consumption and costs for heating, cooling and water heating by 25–50% or more. Furthermore, they are a home grown energy technology that create and maintain skilled manufacturing and installation jobs in our state.
