Heroes' Tree
Our Heroes' Tree is shown at Rockville Public Library. It has photos and information about former and current persons that have been in any of the branches of the armed forces. Everyone is encouraged to bring information to the library if they wish to have it included on the tree.
Standing beside the tree is SFC Dwayne Barker from the Rockville National Guard Armory.

Story time at the Library
The second graders from Turkey Run Elementary traveled to Rockville Public Library to listen to stories and take a tour of the library. Library director, Cindy Hein, is reading to the students.

Armed Forces Listing
Randal Wright, Parke County Historian, recently compiled an alphabetical listing of over 5600 names of those connected to Parke County who have served in the armed forces. The two volume set of Parke County Veterans, is available at Rockville Public Library and a set was donated to the Parke County Veterans office.

Rock-A-Teers
The Rockville Elementary "Rock-A-Teers" recently performed at Rockville Public Library. They are under the direction of Mrs. Susan Bumgardner. Students from left to right: Luke Overpeck, Rachel Overpeck, Brenna Douglas, Nolin Douglas, Cody Vauters, Beth Wagoner.

Hula Hoop for the Hair Fairy
Rockville Public Library sponsored a "Hula Hoop for the Hair Fairy" to raise money for the Hair Fairy Project. This project raises money to purchase presents for children with cancer. The hula hoopers raised $540. Hula hoopers are (l to r front row): Ellen Rohr, Skylar Forrest, Amy Rohr, Tara Garver, Alexis Pratt, Chloe Garver, Mady Clary, Lexi Lear; (back row) Jenny Woody, Jessica Baxter.

Skylar won a check for $25 from Rockville Public Library for collecting the most money for the Hula Hoop for the Hair Fairy Project. Skylar collected $164. Cindy Hein, library director, is presenting the check to Skylar.

Mime
Deborah Langerman, a mime from Indianapolis, performed recently for the children at Rockville Public Library. She is showing books that do not have words and telling the children to use their imaginations to tell stories.
